Terminal

I.T.S.A. s.r.l. uses its terminal in particular as Terminal Containers as well as storage and different goods storage on behalf of a third party; The company works at the Port of Augusta, where it has got an area granted for fifteen years, with Gate in e out and a Surveillance service, excuted by well-qualified staff and through an inner circuit of h24 TV surveillance video cameras.

The total surface is about 100.000 sqm: 92.000 sqm used as containers and different goods' storage on behalf of a third party, divided into separated stowage areas for import-export containers and an area used for inspections and customs visits with a quay of about 8.000 sqm looking onto the sea.

This quay has got two berths named number seven and number eight for 302 m quay with ocean beds up to 12/13,80 mt. These berths border further 300 m public available quay. It's interesting that the quay is particularly planned for special cargoes.

The Terminal has got a maximum storage capacity equal to 8.200 teus, 180 teus are fridges: 144 are equipped with a connection to the earth electric power for a maximum power of about 800 KW through 144 plugs, connected to 2 Emergency diesel-powered Generators each of them of about 500 KW while the remaining 36 teus are fridges with a connection through 36 plugs connected to the electric power supplied by a mobile (containerized and silenced) diesel-powered Generator .

The Terminal offers: a qualified staff that carries on activities as Shipping Agency, Customs Broker including the Management of customs documents in cooperation with the Customs Agency (AIDA), Customs Operations facilitated in Domiciliation Procedure. Moreover, the terminal meets ISPS, IMO and Customs requirements. In fact, the whole terminal area, as well as the store on behalf of a third party, is recognized as an holding area, customs private store of type C and VAT depot under the law D.L. 331/93 and, under the Unique Excise Test. Moreover, there are some storage areas for dangerous cargoes and IMCO containers belonging to the most part of dangerous classes.

The terminal is active all year round with the possibility of containers, semitrailers and special means' ferrying; so, it can receive rolling stocks designed for boats which are fenced in and supervised by the most modern structures and technologic forms, and are under a constant control for a possible improvement and implementation.

. All the reception, load/unload, loading/unloading, storage, replenishment, emptying and redelivery operations are managed by continually updated strategies which permit to promptly perform, every order.

A communication radio system based on a new digital technology is available in order to provide an easy and reliable communication between the workers. I.T.S.A has got large uncovered and covered areas outside the Port of Augusta 3 km far from the Port and 1 km far from the CT-SR motorway.

The Port of Augusta is at the North-West overboard of the Ionian Sea and the entrance from the sea to the port roadstead is possible thanks to two canals. The Commercial Port, is exactly inside the roadstead, and the terminal is an integral part of it. Its geographic coordinates are: 37°11.3' North -15°11.6' East. It is located in one of the most important industrial European area and it is connected with the A18 and A19 motorways thanks to which we can reach the main Sicilian towns, and it's about one hour drive away from the Straits of Messina and 15 minutes from Catania airport.

The amplest and most complete surveillance to the companies and, of course, to their clients is assured inside the terminal and the external areas.
